There is no way in this universe that I could remember how many times I failed at something, and to be honest about it, I do not want to remember them for obvious reasons. And besides, at least it reminds me that I am a human being and therefore not perfect. Another wonderful thought is that when I fail, it is not the end of my world…there are always more possibilities. Below are a few persuasions as to why I continue on.
When I am not successful at something, I am still alive and kicking and attempting to do what I feel is right at the time for the situation, and it also makes me realize that I am a little more stronger than before.
At least I tried and in the positive vein, I did learn more new knowledge and gained some experience which I might utilize to be more successful, and also allows me to muster the courage to persevere on. One does not have to be perfect, for we could never attain perfection. But if what we failed at is something we wish to eventually succeed at, then go over the benefits of succeeding and it should renew your enthusiasm. And I have no doubt that we all would rather fail every so often than to be absolutely useless in our lives.
Another perspective I enjoy remembering is that it is always those little stones (failures) along the path that might trip me up as I climb the mountain of what I am trying to accomplish. It also helps me to remember that those who have succeeded at their dreams have more than likely failed along the way then I have even tried.
And never forget that when you are facing a wall you cannot seem to climb, ask the advice of those you trust…if they do not know, ask someone else, for someone has already been down the road you are on, and have faced the same walls…for all walls are only temporary setbacks, and that means that we are those wonderful works in progress.
You might also consider the fact that if you stop attempting to succeed at what you really want, you just might talk yourself out of becoming an amazing individual. One thing that always seems to help me to persevere when I temporarily fail at something I really want is to go over the list of benefits of succeeding. So I highly recommend that when you begin something good, first make a list of the benefits of succeeding, and reading it at least once a week. What it does is allow you to realize that you are full of positive values to draw upon, and some of them are easily adapting to change when necessary, belief in yourself, courage, self discipline, initiative, planning ability, responsibility, other talents and abilities, and your love of life itself.
