WHO ARE WE?
Who are we? Damned if I know! Wow, the response to that inquiry is going to be a real poser, for all of us are transitioning all the time…at least, hopefully we are – for the better of course. No one has a concrete answer as to who each of us are.
However, there is one fairly good method of getting a fairly good indication. Just take a very long look at those we “hang around” with – how they look, how they talk, how they act, and ask them what their ambitions are, etc. When they answer, just relax and listen…not only with your mind, but also with your heart. Sometime later, when you are alone, ask yourself if you are comfortable around them, and if you would like to be like them. Whatever your feelings are, it does not mean they are bad or good — all you wish to ascertain is if the two of you can help improve each other. If they appear to be slowly morphing into a hefty quantity of snake secretion, you may want to reconsider your friendship, for one of the laws of this life are “if we hang out with snake secretion, we will smell like snake secretion.”
Whether we like it or not, that’s the way it is – and no amount of perfume or deodorant is going to camouflage it. If it dresses weird, looks weird, and acts weird, it is weird. And if we hang around with weird, guess what … everyone else is going to believe we are also weird.
If we are tired of being weird, remember that we can be anyone we wish to be…if we feel we have done something unworthy, the absolutely number one step to feeling worthy is to look into a mirror, and say; “Wow, how about that! I’m human. I make mistakes.” Hell, if someone never makes a mistake, I don’t want them around me, they will make me look bad. Everyone makes mistakes – no matter the degree of the mistake, crap happens! It happens to everyone, very where, everyday. We must have patience with ourselves, forgive ourselves, and realize how nice it is to know we are human.
Another step to being worthy is to realize that a mistake doesn’t make us bad, and to have some faith in ourselves. Know how to eat? Sure! We do it everyday – automatically! We accomplish feeding those creepy things in us intuitively. We open our muzzle, pitch some stuff into it, and go for more – because we have faith in ourselves we can to it again. We don’t give it much thought, we just do it.
Forgiving and believing in ourselves, and becoming who we wish to be, can be exactly the same…lay out a plan (which cafe), make the list of improvements (the menu), and read, write, listen (eat) –bingo! Soon, it becomes a really great habit. The more we do it, the stronger our faith in ourselves. Ask the advice of those we trust, and the faith in ourselves just doubled. We don’t have to complicate it, just do it!
The physical part of who we are is quite simple! We are an assimilation of genetic code, knowledge, atoms, creepy creatures, experience, thoughts, imagination, and curiosity, all accumulated inside a biological shell with four basic predeterminations, multiply, figure out what the hell this is all about, and learn new and faster ways to create new and faster gadgets, so we may toil long and hard hours, go buy one of them, put it into the kitchen, and brag to our friends and neighbors “Yep, I have one of those.”
